2024 was an important year for Piping Hot Cwmbran because after 4 years of wearing tartans of individual band members choices, and playing on a mixture of old 2nd and 3rd hand drums, we decided that with the increase in membership, we needed a more uniformed approach across the board, both in our uniform and instruments. We therefore appointed one of our members as a Grants Officer, who's job it would be to try and raise funds that would enable the band to equip itself with uniforms and instruments.

In all we managed to raise over £25,000 which was made up of donations and grants from many different sources such as Councillors Burnett, Watkins, O'Connell, Slade and Thomas, The National Lottery Communuty Fund, The Millenium Stadium Grant Scheme, The Nioba Masonic Lodge in Newport, The Cwmbran Trust, The Cwmbran Centre, Cwmbran Community Council, Blaenavon Town Council, Henllys Community Council, Pontypool Community Council and Croesylliog and Llanyrafon Community Council, The Asda Foundation,  plus 2 private donations from 2 of the bands members.

This funding has enabled the band to purchase its own unique and very smart taylor made uniform, made up of Pride of Wales Tartan Cilts, Cadet Style blues Jackets, Welsh Dragon glengarry badges, belt buckles and sporrans, Daffodil cilt (as there is no K in the Welsh language!) pins. We have also purchased 4 state of the art Flint high tension side drums, 4 Flint compact side drums for our junior members, 2 Flint Tenor drums, a 28" Flint Bass drum, 11 McCallum Practice Chanters and 8 sets of McCallum Bagpipes, a bespoke Drum Majors Mace & Baldrick and a practice goose for our learner pipers.

Thanks to the generosity of these wonderful people and organisations the band is now fully equipped, and will be secure for many years to come. Thank you all! Your generosity will enable us to contune to serve the people of Cwmbran and district,Torfaen and beyond, for many years to come.
